The suite of cutting-edge technology platforms we manage at the HGTC generates rich datasets daily. The Data Science Core provides expert data science support, developing pipelines, statistical models, and interactive applications for scientists to easily integrate and analyse all their data. We also manage the high-performance computing that drives this research, meaning we can provide an end-to-end service.

Support for coding, computing, and statistics comes in various forms. Some areas of Immunology are equipped with software to pick up and analyse data as they come out of the instrument. In other areas, especially Genomics, most researchers need help as soon as the sequencer produces a data set.
We meet researchers where they are. Sometimes we participate in data analysis; in other cases we automate process so researchers can iterate and replicate analysis; and we often train scientists in coding, high-performance computing, and developer operations, so they can self-serve.
Beyond our team’s core service role, we introduce techniques and technologies to the Malaghan, from both the science and technology domains. And set up all the computing, on-premises and on the cloud, that we need to make all this happen.
