DATA SCIENCE

We build tools and analyse data to help our researchers push the boundaries of Immunology.
At the Hugh Green Technology Centre, we recognise that modern immunology generates vast and intricate datasets, from flow cytometry to genomics and bioimaging. Our Data Science team bridges the gap between raw data and meaningful discovery, ensuring that researchers can navigate this complexity with confidence.

Integrated support across research domains

Our suite of advanced technology platforms produces rich datasets daily. We provide comprehensive data science support, developing pipelines, statistical models, and interactive applications that enable scientists to seamlessly integrate and analyse their data. By also managing the high-performance computing infrastructure that underpins this research, we offer an end-to-end service that supports and empowers researchers at every stage.

Tailored solutions for diverse needs

Understanding that each research project is unique, we offer flexible support:

-
Collaborative analysis: Partnering directly with researchers to interpret complex datasets.
-
Automation: Streamlining protocol-driven analyses for efficiency and reproducibility.
-
Training: Equipping scientists with skills in coding, high-performance computing, and DevOps to foster independence in data analysis.

Driving innovation through technology integration

Beyond our core services, we actively introduce cutting-edge techniques and technologies to the Malaghan Institute. By setting up and maintaining both on-premises and cloud-based computing environments, we ensure that our researchers have the tools they need to push the boundaries of immunological research.

Visualisation of single cell RNA-seq data from migratory dendritic cells in the skin of wild type (C57) or STAT6 knock out mice using Uniform Manifold Approximation and Projection (UMAP). Dendritic cells from skin draining lymph nodes were sorted using a BD INFLUX™ Cell sorter loaded on BD Rhapsody™ Single-Cell Analysis System and analysed using the BD Rhapsody™ WTA Analysis Kit.
