Grow Your Flow 2026 begins 17 March. 🌱
Grow Your Flow is an annual flow cytometry training programme led by the Hugh Green Technology Centre. Through interactive workshops and expert-led classes, we build practical skills, strengthen reproducibility and promote scientific rigour. Our goal is simple: high-quality, accessible training that drives innovation, excellence and real-world research impact.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
Grow Your Flow is designed for everyone, from complete beginners to experienced cytometrists.
This modular series starts with core cytometry principles and progressively builds advanced skills including panel design, experimental design, control optimisation, data troubleshooting, and autofluorescence management.
As cytometry becomes more complex, with expanding reagent choices and instruments capable of detecting 50+ parameters, the learning curve keeps rising. Grow Your Flow cuts through that complexity with interactive lectures and hands-on data workshops, using real, characterised data sets and a range of software platforms. You will learn how to spot errors, optimise experiments, and apply best practice principles directly to your own data.

Our faculty of cytometrists are passionate educators who love to share their knowledge about cytometry. They dedicate much of their time to ensuring that future generations of cytometrists are prepared to meet the rapidly evolving demands of cytometry experiments and data outputs.
HOW MANY CLASSES ARE THERE?
The core programme includes 10 classes delivered monthly, online, or in person at the Malaghan Institute of Medical Research. You can choose from four optional expansion modules, taken independently or alongside the core series. The full programme is available here.

Grow Your Flow is fully hybrid. We love the energy and connection that come from having people in the room, but we also know that time, distance and travel can be real barriers to accessing great training. After successfully road-testing the hybrid format with attendees in 2025, we are excited to offer the entire programme this way in 2026. Every session is delivered live to support meaningful interaction, whether you join us in person or from anywhere in the world. All classes are also recorded and available in our members only area, so you can revisit the content when it suits you.
